She first came to the heights of fame with BBC the drama Tipping the Velvet, the show about spying Spooks and the crime thriller series Ashes to Ashes. Hawes made her debut in the world of cinema by voicing Avengers, released in 1998. She has appeared since her appearance on films such as Death at a Funeral Misbehaviour or To Olivia. In addition, she been the voice of Lara Croft (in 7 editions) as the protagonist in the Tomb Raider game franchise. She was a 2020-2021 executive producer on the TV series Honour and Finding Alice.
